Homemade Bomb Found on Wyoming, Minn. Road

Portions of East Viking Boulevard near the City of Wyoming was shut down over the weekend after a homemade bomb was discovered on the roadway.

According to the Wyoming Police, the crude IED was discovered late Saturday night. From the photo, the device appeared to be comprised of aerosol cans and fireworks that were taped together.

The Wyoming Police went onto say that someone did try to ignite the bomb, but the attempt was

unsuccessful.

Upon discovery, authorities called in the St. Paul Bomb Squad to assist law enforcement in making the IED inert.

Multiple commenters on social media tried to chalk the device up to stupid kids; however, the location of the device is a cause of extra concern for authorities.

The Wyoming Police responded to one commenter's theory saying, "I mean pretty sure in the middle of a roadway increases the likelihood of someone potentially being present to be harmed."

Thankfully, no one was injured by the device.
