Pine City Man Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash

An 82-year-old Pine City man is dead following a single-vehicle crash Sunday evening.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Donald Welter was traveling southbound on I-35 near Mile Marker 179 when his 2019 Chevy Cruz left the roadway and struck a tree.

Welter was taken to North Memorial Hospital but ultimately passed away due to his injuries.
