Pine Co. Confirms First Case of COVID-19

Pine County Public Health has confirmed its first case of COVID-19.

According to the county, The individual is a male in his 20s currently recovering in isolation
 
at home. His infection is linked to contact with a confirmed case and is not associated with
 
community transmission.

Pine County Public Health encourages everyone to remain vigilant in following guidance from
 
the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which includes:


 
- Maintain social distancing of at least 6 feet when you must leave your home for essentials
 
or work
 
- Wear a mask when out in public
 
- Stay home when sick. If you have cold or flu-like symptoms, stay home for at least 7
 
days, and for three days with no fever or other respiratory symptoms
 
- Wash hands frequently with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, or use hand sanitizer
 
- Cover coughs and sneezes with your elbow or a tissue
 
- Avoid touching your face

Pine County Public Health has established a local hotline to answer COVID-19 questions, connect people to local resources, and help people under quarantine meet their essential needs. The hotline number is (320)-591-1690. The hours for the COVID-19 hotline are Monday – Friday, from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
