The Pine County Attorney’s office just released its number of cases for 2017.
At 1,425 cases, Pine County amassed the highest number of cases over all surrounding counties, including Mille Lacs, Carlton, Chisago, Aitkin, and Kanabec.
That number of cases doesn’t include 2,356 traffic cases filed, or the 248 juvenile cases.
The office also handles more cases per attorney of those counties as well. The attorney's office also made it clear that it doesn’t make Pine County a high-crime county, but rather one that features law enforcement that does efficient work despite low-staffing and a large area to cover.
