A report on the quality of drinking water in Pine City for 2017 was released this week, and for the most part, the area passed.
Pine City was in violation in terms of copper levels in the water, as 3 out of the 20 homes sampled came back with high levels. While copper is present in all city water, some who drink water with high copper levels over time can suffer liver or kidney damage.
In response to copper levels, the city has done a study and will continue to make sure the water is less likely to absorb copper from plumbing pipes.
