Demolition of the Pine City Feed Mill site began on Monday.
The lot has sat empty since it was shut down in 2009 due to a decline in business. The old mill was put in tax lean foreclosure and condemned; Pine City then received the land from the county.
The city has formed a committee to discuss the development of the plot of land. Their current focus for the land is to turn it into community housing but nothing is set in stone.
