Dragons Tennis Captures Conference Title With Win Over Pierz

The Lady Dragons had to wait an extra day to travel up to Pierz for their chance at taking home the conference title. But the wait paid off for the Dragons. Pine City dominated Pierz and came away with a 6-1 victory, and captured the conference title. The Dragons will host Pierz tomorrow for their final regular season match at 4:30pm.

Head Coach Kristin Unverzagt said, "Right out of the gates, our singles and doubles played well and did not miss any opportunities to control the match. Lydia Adams finished strong at 1 singles by forcing her opponent to make mistakes. At 2nd singles, Ella Sell capitalized on her opponent's shot placement to make offensive opportunities. At 3rd singles, Addison Sell, and 4th singles, Lily Struss forced their opponents to hit short shots and came to the net to capitalize. 1st and 2nd doubles were aggressive with their play and did not allow the other doubles teams to have many offensive opportunities. The team worked together to seal the conference title!"
