The Hinckley city council approved an ambulance donation to Anoka Technical College during their meeting earlier this month.
The ambulance was donated to Essentia by the family of Brenda Hage, who was killed after she was struck by a motorist while responding to a call in 1999.
According to Hinckley Administrator Kyle Morell, Brenda's family donated enough funds for the purchase of an ambulance, stretcher, and a new cardiac monitor. The ambulance served the Hinckley area between 2008 and 2017 when it was donated to the Hinckley Fire Department.
The college plans to refurbish the vehicle and use it to train students.
