A Willow River man has been sentenced to over three years in prison for his role in the 2019 drowning death of his passenger.
According to the criminal complaint, Preston Paul Prokasky was under the influence of methamphetamine when he, and two other men, attempted to cross the Willow River in a Ford Escape on September 16, 2019. Prokasky and one other passenger managed to escape the vehicle. His second passenger did not.
Prokasky pled guilty to felony criminal vehicular homicide in January of this year. He was sentenced to 41 months in prison on December 8.
He will receive a credit for 449 days already served.
