A 26-year-old Zimmerman woman is dead following a car crash on County Road 8.
According to an Isanti County Sheriff's report, authorities were called to County Road 8 west of Zuni St. NW. just before 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 19. A preliminary investigation shows that the vehicle driven by the woman was traveling eastbound on County Road 8 when she crossed the centerline and struck an SUV driven by a 22-year-old man head-on.
The woman was declared dead at the scene. The second driver was taken to Mercy Hospital where he was evaluated and later released.
The collision is under investigation by the Isanti County Sheriff's Office and the Minnesota State Patrol.
