We had two teams compete at Foley in the section quarterfinals.
Braham was up first and they played against Swanville. These two teams met earlier in the season and Braham won but only by 11.
The Bulldogs came in with a record under .500 but played much better than their record. In the 1st half each team took a little time to settle in, but once they did it was action packed. The Bulldogs were able to keep the difference within a few possessions until late in the 1st half. The Bombers defense came to life and created turnovers, which they turned into points and began to pull away before half. Their offense was fast and took little time with each possession before finding an open look. The Bombers finished the 1st half on a run and were up 47-27.
The 2nd half was much of the same and at time they looked even quicker on offense. Their defense played well only allowing 24 2nd half points. It was never in doubt as the Bombers come away with the win 86-51, to move on to the section semi final.

The 2nd game of the day featured East Central and Upsala. The Eagles were looking to stop the Cardinals run of winning 16 of the last 17 games. But what kind of game would we be treated to, on paper it looked possibly more like a shootout, but that was not the case. Both teams came out and played very well defensively. While Upsala was able to hit 5 three's in the first half, the Eagles never let that dampen their efforts. They would find their own success in other ways, but also hit 3 long range shots. But again it was a battle of the defenses and at half East Central trailed 26-21.
Upsala had taken control of the game to begin the 2nd half. They went on a 12-0 scoring run to start the half. After that run the both teams struggled to get anything going offensively. But East Central was able to find some good looks but the ball just wouldn't go down. Sadly, the Eagles would fall to Upsala 51-32.
Congrats to the Eagles on a great year!
