Pine City was the home team Tuesday but they had to move the game to Hinckley.
The game being moved to the home of the Jaguars certainly seemed to help in yesterday's game. Although no one was really sure if we'd be able to play. The game was delayed twice by weather. Once before the game then at the top of the 2nd. Despite the delays the Jags got out to an early 3-0 in the 1st. After those three runs both sides came to a stalemate. Neither team was able to cross a run but credit is due to both defenses, as they made some great plays in the field to prevent any runs from scoring. But in the 5th inning the Jags broke through, adding three more runs to give them a 7-0 lead. The Dragons couldn't answer in the bottom of the 5th but in the 6th they found success. After their lead off batter grounded out the next three batters reached. Asa Schwarzbauer hit an RBI single to score their first run. Two of the next three batters walked which scored two more runs for Pine City. After the 6th the Dragons deficit was now only 4 runs. The Jags were looking to add some more insurance runs to their lead as the 7th began. But they were only able to get one runner on as the other three were struck out. An ideal way for Pine City to get back to the plate to try and score and at least tie the game. Their first runner reach on a walk but was quickly picked off. The next batter reached and the Dragons looked to make a one out rally. But the Jags made quick work of the next two batters and won the game 7-3.
Pine City's next gam will be a double header at East Central on Thursday.
Hinckley-Finlayson's next game is also Thursday when they will host Rush City.
