Knights Come From Behind to Defeat the Orioles

Hinckley host Ogilvie on Tuesday night in an Eastern Minny League contest.

The Knights were looking to hold on to their 2nd place spot in the division, while the Orioles were hoping for their 4th league win.

The Knights would get on the board in the 1st inning, to take a 1-0 nothing lead. But the lead didn't last long, as the Orioles were able to answer back with a run of their own in the top of the 2nd. Then the Knights would score in the 3rd again to retake the lead 2-1. The game looked to maybe take a turn in the 4th, as the defenses came to life. Hinckley's starting pitcher Ethan Aagaard struck out the side in the top of the 4th. Ogilvie would nearly copy paste that performance and they forced the Knights to go 1, 2, 3. So would this trend continue and turn into a pitchers dual, the answer quickly was realized. Ogilvie got their first two at batters to reach, then after an out another batter reached to load the bases. An error allowed the leadoff man to score to tie the game at 2. Then a bunt single loaded the bases again, before a 2 run single was hit by Sam Hebeisen to give them a 2 run lead. The Knights were looking to answer those three runs, but were only able to score 1 thanks to some hustle and passed balls that allowed Bryce Erickson to score. Neither team was able to score again in the 6th thanks to some key plays made by the defenses. Then in the 7th the Orioles went down 1, 2, 3. The Knights were able to put a runner on base and with two outs Cory Schmidt hit an RBI single to tie the game at 4. The next batter, Isaiah Hasz, was able to score another run with an RBI double to give the Knights the 5-4 lead. His RBI would wind up being the game winner as the Knights held the Orioles off the board in the next two innings.

The Knights improve to 10-9 overall and 7-2 in league play. They'll play one more game before the 4th, they play in Quamba tonight at 7:30pm.
