Holiday Robbery Suspects in Custody


Two men are in custody in connection to the Monday armed robbery of the Hinckley Holiday gas station.

The Pine County Sheriff's Office used video surveillance from locations in Hinckley to track the suspect vehicle and identify the robbery suspect.

Investigators were able tracked the suspect to the Grand Hinckley Inn. Inside the hotel, 27-year-old Nicholas P. Thorson was found along with items of evidence and the gun used in the robbery.

A second suspect in the robbery 37-year-old Byron J. Sternaman was also arrested.

Nicholas Thorson of Willow River is charged with 1st Degree Aggravated Robbery and 4th Degree Sale of Drugs Schedule 1, 2, 3 but not Marijuana. Byron Sternaman of Hinckley has been charged with 1st Degree Aggravated Robbery and Possession of a 5th Degree Controlled Substance.
