Authorities with the Isanti County Sheriff's Office along with the City of Isanti Police Department have placed 37-year-old Richard Melvin Peterson of Isanti under arrest on a Probable Cause Murder hold. According to Isanti County Jail records, Mr. Peterson has been charged with 2nd Degree Murder.
The arrest is in relation to the disappearance and death of 32-year-old Amanda Jo Vangrinsven, who went missing back on August 5. Her body was discovered five days later during a search warrant on a property in Athens Township.
The Midwest Medical Examiner's Office had completed the autopsy and preliminary information indicates that the cause of death was listed as a homicide.
The case still remains under investigation at this time.
