Braham Wins on the Road

The Bombers play at Ogilvie on Tuesday night.

On a night where most other games were postponed these two teams endured the snow.

Each side came in on a different note, Ogilvie came in off a lopsided victory on Friday, and Braham lost on Saturday.

As the game got underway both teams took some time settling in, like two boxers feeling each other out. But eventually a basket was made and Braham was on the board first, it didn't take too long for Ogilvie to answer with one of their own. Even after the first few points were scored, neither team was able to find a rhythm. One of the reasons why neither team could was turnovers. There were plenty of good possessions for both teams that ended early due to a turnover. The Bombers were able to at least cut down on the mistakes, and started to pick up some momentum. As the 1st half wore on, Braham's ability to get 2nd and 3rd chance opportunities was a major part of them being able to build on their lead. While Ogilvie wasn't playing bad, they are a young team, and some of their inexperience showed. Miscommunication and being just out of position lead to some untimely hiccups, which only fueled Braham. At break the Bombers lead 34-8.

Braham came out in the 2nd half with something to prove, after a 1st half wasn't their best showing. They turned up the pressure defensively, grabbing what felt like the same amount of takeaways they had in the 1st half, in the first few minutes of the 2nd. And almost every takeaway lead to points. The Lions were caught reeling alittle bit, but soon they were able to calm the storm and settle back into the game. The defense made a couple stops and, while the offense didn't have its best night, still improved in the 2nd half. But it was Braham's night and they wound up on top with a 73-22 win.

Braham improves to 2-1 on the season, and 1-0 in conference play.

Ogilvie falls to 1-2 and 0-1 in conference play, but they will continue to grow as the season goes along.
