Construction on Hwy 123 in Sandstone will resume on May 16. The remaining work includes installing new storm sewer and curb and gutter, resurfacing Hwy 123, and improving pedestrian access with new sidewalks and crossings. Work is expected to be completed by July 16, 2022.
Hwy 123 will be closed on 3rd St between Park Ave and Main St from May 16 until July 16. Southbound traffic will be detoured on Pine Ave to Minnesota St. Northbound traffic will be detoured on Park Ave to 5th St. Additionally, Main St will temporarily close May 25 until June 1 before reopening on a temporary surface.
The public is invited to join MnDOT and the contractor at the project field office for questions and schedule updates every Tuesday during construction at 11 a.m. The project field office is located in the parking lot at the MnDOT truck station at 1618 Hwy 23 N, Sandstone, MN 55072.
