Hinckley-Finlayson school board selects McNulty as district's next superintendent

The Hinckley-Finlayson school board unanimously voted to select Mike McNulty as the district's next superintendent at a special meeting on Thursday.

McNulty currently serves as the director of business operations at Rockford Area Schools.

According to a news release from the district, the board will be conducting negotiations with McNulty, and a contract is anticipated to be approved at the April 13 board meeting.

McNulty's pending start date is slated for July 1.

“We are excited for this next chapter to begin,” Heather Hanson, Hinckley-Finlayson School Board Chair, said in the release.

The Hinckley-Finlayson school board accepted the resignation of Superintendent Brian Masterson — effective June 30, 2026 — at a special meeting in December.
