The Pine City Girls Tennis Head Coach Kristin Unverzagt gave us a look at the team matches from their second Quad they hosted this season.
The girls tennis team fell short in our matches but we continue to grow and improve. Our competition has been strong and a great way to help us reach our season goals.Â
The team traveled to St. Cloud Tech yesterday but was rained out for the second match against Cambridge-Isanti. We plan to make up that match next Friday in Cambridge. Overall, we played well against a strong St. Cloud team, but fell short with a 2-5 loss. Each point was close and the scores do not reflect how close the games were.
Today we hosted White Bear Lake, Minnehaha Academy, and Roseville. All teams challenged us to help us improve. Despite the losses, the girls continue to learn and improve as we find the best combinations to put our team in the most competitive position. In our first match, our doubles teams battled hard with some close points. In the Minnehaha Academy match, we were able to sweep doubles. To wrap up the day, we played Roseville and our 1st and 2nd singles dominated their matches to give us two points.
Looking ahead, we host Becker on Tuesday and head to North Branch on Thursday. We are tentatively scheduled to head to Cambridge on Friday.
I am so proud of the girls as they continue to have positive attitudes and work hard. They are focused on improving and preparing for our conference and section matches.
