Due to concerns over COVID-19, the Mora City Council has decided to close the Mora Aquatic Center for the 2020 swim season.
The decision was made during the May 5, meeting where the council said they took into account operation obstacles as well as state guidelines.
In a post on Facebook, the City of Mora said, "to comply with proper social distancing and additional safety recommendations, the operation of the MAC becomes extremely difficult and prohibits the City from ensuring the safety of our guests."
Mora said they will be offering refunds to those who already purchased swim lessons for the season. Anyone with questions is asked to contact Activities and Recreation Coordinator Jeff Krie at j.krie@cityofmora.com.
The Aquatic Center is expected to be open for the 2021 swim season.
