One is dead following a Friday morning fire in Burnett County.
The Burnett County Sheriff's Office reports that responders were called to a home in the Anderson Township around 9:23 a.m. with the report that people were still inside the house.
Grantsburg Fire, Frederic Fire, Cushing Fire, North Ambulance, Wisconsin DNR, Burnett County Emergency Management, and the Burnett County Sheriff’s Office responded. One person and a dog were found dead.
Another person was taken to the hospital for severe burns.
The home is a total loss, and the fire is currently under investigation by the State Fire Marshall and Burnett County Medical Examiner.
