Pilot Recovering Following Plane Crash in Osceola

A pilot is recovering after the plane they were piloting crashed near the Osceola Airport Monday evening.


According to the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, dispatch received a 911 call saying that a fixed-wing aircraft crash-landed in a soybean field around 6:00 p.m.


There were no other occupants in the plane, and the pilot was taken to Regions Hospital in St. Paul for nonlife-threatening injuries.


The crash is being investigated by the Federal Aviation Administration and the National Transportation Safety Board.


The Osceola Police Department, County Line First Responders, Osceola Fire Department, and Lakes Area Ambulance Service assisted with the incident.
