Jeremy Richardson of Willow River was sentenced earlier this week after pleading guilty to second-degree murder for the death of a Finlayson man.

Richardson was originally charged with three counts, second-degree murder, second-degree murder - without intent - while committing a felony, and First-Degree Burglary, after the victim was found beaten and not breathing in July of 2021. According to the criminal complaint, Richardson and the victim had been fighting over a snowmobile.

Richardson pled guilty to second-degree murder - without intent - while committing a felony in December of 2021.

On Tuesday, February 9, a Pine County Judge handed down the sentence of 234 months (19.5 years) in prison with a credit for 199 days served.
