A Sturgeon Lake man charged with felony 1st-degree drug sale was sentenced to a decade in prison last week.
Ryan Burbul was arrested in January 2021. He had been under investigation by the East Central Drug and Violent Offenders task force for the sale of narcotics. At the time, law enforcement had information that he had recently purchased drugs in the Twin Cities.
A search of the vehicle determined that Burbul had around a pound of methamphetamine. According to the criminal complaint, he planned to sell it in Duluth.
Burbul was sentenced last Wednesday in a pine county court to 10 and a half years in prison with credit for 75 days already served.
