Tigers Fall to Talented Mora Team

The Rush City boys basketball team traveled to Mora on Monday night.

The Tigers were able to jump out to an early 5-0 lead over Mora, but the Mustangs quickly turned things back in their favor with steals and quick scoring going on a 22-3 run. After seing their lead quickly fade the Tigers had to work from behind, and despite forcing some shots and turning the ball over they were able to answer nearly all of the Mustangs scores throughout the end of the 1st half. Even though it seemed Rush City was answering every score, the Mustangs had already built up a decent lead and they were running smoothly on all cylinders. It felt like any attempt at the basket was going through for the Mustangs, as they lead at half 42-26.

The smooth running offense would continue for Mora into and throughout the 2nd half. Once again nearly every and any shot they took was falling in. And the Mustangs had control of the game. The Tigers 2nd half started a bit cold for them, but the intesity and confidence started to build. By the end of the game the Tigers had found some rhythm on both sides of the ball and got some big contributions scoring wise off the bench. But the Mora lead was too much and the Mustangs came out victorious 86-59.

With the win the Mustangs improve to 4-0 on the season, they'll be on the road Thursday for an important section and conference matchup against Albany.

For the Tigers they fall to 0-6 on the year, their next opportunity for a win will be on Thursday at Hope Academy, before returning home Friday to host, at this time, winless Milaca Friday.
