Welia Health released its 2026-2028 Community Health Needs Assessment on Tuesday, Jan. 6, which offers a comprehensive review of health needs and priorities for Pine and Kanabec County residents.
According to a news release, the assessment is completed every three years in collaboration with community organizations, public health leaders, and health care partners.
In total, 37 community representatives participated in the online key informant survey to weigh in on health issues.
Mental health, substance use, and tobacco use were identified as three top concerns for prioritizing area health needs.
About 62% of respondents rated housing needs and mental health as major problems; about 54% identified substance use as a major problem, with alcohol and methamphetamine noted as the most problematic substances.
The findings will guide Welia’s strategic planning and community health initiatives over the next three years.
The full assessment is available on Welia’s website.
