Pine County Chosen for National Youth Justice Program
A team of Pine County employees has been chosen for a prestigious national program.
Held at Georgetown University, the School-Justice Partnerships Certificate Program Pine County after a rigorous selection process.
Pine County Attorney Reese Frederickson is part of that group and said the goal of the team is to bring down truancy rates in Pine County.
Frederickson also stressed that hard work earned them this chance.
The team’s goals include substantially reducing truancy and out-of-home-placement costs, and implementing a cross system model to tackle delinquency.
Reported Sexual Assault in Lindstrom
The Lakes Area Police Department is currently looking for a man in connection to a reported sexual assault in Lindstrom.
The reported assault took place July 16th in the early morning hours when a 22 year old female was walking home from the city’s annual Karl Oskar Days celebration.
The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 25 years old, average build, and dark medium length hair.

Public Open House for Hinckley Road Project
Mndot is hosting a public open house to address a major road project in Hinckley.
The project in question is the resurfacing and improvement project for Highway 48 that starts September 11th.
The meeting is August 16th from 4-6 pm at the Hinckley Community Room.
All are encouraged to come and ask questions and learn more about the project.
Eighth Annual Beau Berglund Fishing Tournament
A popular fishing tournament is back on for its eighth year in a row this Saturday.
The 8th annual Beau Berglund Fishing tournament is Saturday with registration at 8 am at the Pine City Boat Landing.
Registration costs $30 and Silent Auction items will be available for bidding at The Village Bar & Grill afterwards.
Prizes will be awarded at the bar and grill at 4 pm for biggest sheepshead and walleye.
