Pine City girls hosted Aitkin on Saturday. The girls basketball team had a busy end to their week, on Friday they played in the cities against St Croix Prep, then had to turn around and play again Saturday afternoon. Some fatigue was sure to play a factor in this midday game, especially this early in the season. But Pine City did not let that hold them back, despite the slow start. East Central hosted Braham on Friday night. These two teams split their regular season series last year, but Braham had the final say in the playoffs. East Central has a the conference title the last few years and look to defend it, but Braham has aspirations of a title themselves. Both teams knew they needed to get off to a hot start. The Dragons boys basketball team hosted Ogilvie on Tuesday night. Pine City came into the night after a loss the previous night vs Zimmerman, the Lions came in fresh, as this was their first game of the season.

Braham hosted East Central on Thursday night! The Bombers were looking to win their 3rd straight conference game of the season, while the Eagles were looking for their 2nd conference win.

The Dragons traveled to Zimmerman on Monday night. Pine City comes into the season as a younger squad, with a mix of experience. Early on against the Thunder, they were moving the ball well and even held a 5-1 lead. But the speed, height and experience of Zimmerman soon took over.

The Bombers play at Ogilvie on Tuesday night. On a night where most other games were postponed these two teams endured the snow. Each side came in on a different note, Ogilvie came in off a lopsided victory on Friday, and Braham lost on Saturday.

Hinckley-Finlayson hosted Barnum on Friday. The game started and both teams were anxious to get the first score. While neither team scored as quickly as they would've liked, eventually the first bucket was found. It was a close game throughout the 1st half, but the Jags did a good job of keeping momentum in their favor. Rush City played Ekso in the section championship on Saturday. The Tigers played in Hermantown on Saturday afternoon to defend their section title against Esko. The Tigers and Esko played against each other for the 4th year in a row, with Rush City winning the previous three.

Head Coach Unverzagt tells us how the teams season officially ended. Rush City played Crosby-Ironton on Wednesday night. The Tigers played in Hermantown against the Rangers in the section semi final. This was a game Rush City was looking forward to. They had lost to them during the regular season and were looking for some revenge.
