Pine City Moves to 2-0 in Conference Play after Beating Aitkin Saturday
Pine City girls hosted Aitkin on Saturday.
The girls basketball team had a busy end to their week, on Friday they played in the cities against St Croix Prep, then had to turn around and play again Saturday afternoon.
Some fatigue was sure to play a factor in this midday game, especially this early in the season. But Pine City did not let that hold them back, despite the slow start. Vivian Lahti got them on the board first with a three.

East Central and Braham Open Their Boys Basketball Season in an in Conference Battle
East Central hosted Braham on Friday night.
These two teams split their regular season series last year, but Braham had the final say in the playoffs. East Central has a the conference title the last few years and look to defend it, but Braham has aspirations of a title themselves.

Pine City comes into the season as a younger squad, with a mix of experience. Early on against the Thunder, they were moving the ball well and even held a 5-1 lead. But the speed, height and experience of Zimmerman soon took over.

Jaguars Fall to Barnum in Final Seconds
Hinckley-Finlayson hosted Barnum on Friday.
The game started and both teams were anxious to get the first score. While neither team scored as quickly as they would've liked, eventually the first bucket was found.
