Dog Shot Randomly Outside Pine City Home

A quiet evening on Monday in Pine City turned tragic when an unknown shooter killed a resident’s dog.

Around 7:30 Monday evening Pine City resident Yvonne Alleman and her family were relaxing when a gunshot was heard followed by a whimper from their black lab/Australian Shepherd mix named Lucy.

Alleman said losing the dog was devastating, but could have been even worse.

She added that if the culprit is found, the Pine County Sheriff’s Department would be pressing charges.

Sandstone Man Sentenced to 60 Months on Four Felonies

Earlier this week a Sandstone man was sentenced to 60 months in prison on four different felonies.

David William Brown Jr., age 30, has had five prior felony convictions other than these as well.

Those felonies include multiple home burglaries, and was most recently arrested for fleeing from police and was in possession of methamphetamine pipes at that time.

The conviction was gained after Pine County law enforcement in investigated and apprehended Brown.

Burnett County Fair Starts Tomorrow

The Burnett County Fair kicks off for 2017 beginning tomorrow.

The fair will feature the ultimate truck series at the grandstand, family fun day with the parade, as well as a classic car show and demolition derby.
