Hunter Missing in Pine County Found

The hunter who went missing in Pine County for three days was found safe yesterday morning.

The 61-year-old man was grouse hunting in the Nemadji Forest near the Minnesota/Wisconsin border.

He’d gone missing on Monday, before the Minnesota Aviation Rescue Team helped rescue him from a heavily wooded area using a thermal camera.

He was rescued just after 8 am yesterday morning by a team of rescuers from Pine County, the DNR, State Patrol, and more.

The man stated he’d rationed his food and water because he knew rescuers were coming through the texts and calls he was able to make before poor reception and battery loss prevented them.

He was later reunited safely with his family where he resides in Lakeville, Minnesota.
