Pine City Green Corps Program Welcomes Organizer
After being chosen for the prestigious Green Corps program earlier this year, Pine City has welcomed its representative to the area.
A 2016 graduate of the University of Minnesota - Twin Cities, Jonathan Mueller said one of his main goals in his year of service in Pine City will be energy conservation.
In addition to that, two of Mueller’s other focuses include schools and businesses.
The goal of the green corps is to bring awareness and activism toward the environment and flies under the banner of the Americorps program.
Pine City Fire Department Open House
Next weekend the Pine City Fire Department is holding an open house.
Present at the open house will be deputies, firefighters, and paramedics.
There will also be a live car extraction demo, emergency helicopter, and also emergency equipment to see.
The open house is being held Saturday, October 7th from 10 am to 1 pm at the Pine City Fire Station.
International Walk to School Day - North Branch Participating
International Walk to School Day through the Minnesota Safe Routes to School program is coming up on October 4th.
Hundreds of schools will be participating in the program, including local schools such as North Branch Area Public Schools.
The goal of the day is to get schools and communities thinking about what it might be like if students in their neighborhoods walked and bicycled to school year-round.

Hogs and Hoses Event in Hinckley
The Hinckley Fire Relief Association is holding their hogs and hoses event on October 7th.
The event features a hog roast, raffle prizes, street dance, and beer garden.
