Dragon Volleyball Returns Core of Starters

The Pine City volleyball team is looking to improve off an 12-12 season last year that saw them falling in the first round of the section playoffs to Duluth Marshall.

Pine City will have a great chance to do that with a good group of returning starters plus a mix of younger players coming up.

The 2018 Dragon Volleyball Preview with Tami Nelson:

What are you most excited for this year?

We have a lot of returning varsity players this year and the girls have worked extremely hard in the off-season!!

How is the roster shaping up? Do you have a lot of new players? Are you returning a lot of players? Younger? Older? Etc.

At varsity we have a lot returning starters from last year. We also have a lot of new players coming out at the lower levels 7th - 10th.

Who are a couple athletes that will stand out?

Ashley Faur will definitely be a force in the middle as well as Isabelle Aragonez. Kelsey Kidder is switching from being libero last year to hitting left side this year. Courtney Gerner will take over as our libero and Makenna Nelson will set for us this season.

What are your goals?

Work hard, have fun and improve on last season's record.

Favorite upcoming games, matches, or meets?

Looking forward to host the 3rd Annual Pink Out for a Cure game against East Central on October 4th. Also always fun to go against Braham and Rush City.

Anything else you want people to know about your team?

This team is a true FAMILY, they are an amazing group of young ladies both on and off the court!!
