Pine City School District to Take Part in Active Shooter Drill

The Pine County Sheriff’s office and the Pine City School District will be taking part in an active shooter drill next month.

During that time, the Pine City High School will be shut down to outside traffic.

Residents should expect an increase in law enforcement along with other emergency personnel in Pine City. This training will involve around 15 law enforcement, five EMS, and 30 Pine City Schools staff, and will also involve all emergency vehicles.

The sheriff's office is asking residents to spread the word about the event.

Writing in a press release, "If you are hearing or seeing postings on social media from people that aren’t aware of the training or don’t remember this information, please remind them of the training taking place this day."

If you have questions about this event, you can contact PCHS principal Troy Anderson at 320-629-4000 or tanderson@isd578.org.

The active shooter drill will take place on Thursday, June 13 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
