Dragons Football Drops Close One to Esko

The Dragons dropped to 2-4 on the season as they lost to the Eskomos by a score of 22-13. The Dragons had plenty of chances in Esko but just could not get points in crunch time. The Dragons fell in the district standings from a share of second place, to a share of last.

The Dragons first offensive drive would end up in a Duke Waxberg touchdown from the half yard line, which gave the Dragons their first, and only, lead of the game at 7-6. The Dragons would add a tally late on a touchdown reception by Tanner Wicktor. The touchdown was Wicktor’s first of the season.

JJ Preston led the way on the defensive side of the ball with thirteen total tackles in the game. George Ausmus and Duke Waxberg both also racked up double digit total tackles on the day. The Dragons also had two interceptions in the game. One by Caleb Fromm, his first of the season, and the other by Jeffery Carlbom.

With the loss, the Dragons fell in the district standings from a share of second place, to a share of last. They have a chance to bounce back this Friday against a tough opponent in the Mora Mustangs. You can listen live on Friday night on 106.5 FM and 1350 AM, or stream it live at wcmpradio.com.
