Area voters to decide on school board, referendum elections on Nov. 4

Area voters will head to the polls on Tuesday, Nov. 4 to decide on school board races and referendum elections.

Here's a look at what will appear on area ballots.

Ogilvie School Board

Susan Brown, Michael (Snowy) Crnobrna, and Amanda Stevenson are on the ballot to fill a vacancy on the Ogilvie school board.

Jim Hanna, who served on the board for 14 months, vacated his seat due to moving out of the school district earlier this year. The seat's term expires on Jan. 1, 2029.

East Central School Board

Amber Benner, Oliver Dykstra, Angela Presley, and Tasha Scullard are on the ballot for four open East Central School Board seats.

Hinckley-Finlayson School Board

Eleven candidates — Maria Costello, Roberta "Birdie" Dunkley, Samantha Dunkley, Shane Goddard, Heather Hanson, Jamie Hendrix, Randall "Toby" Hickle, Richard McNutt, Angela Schoenrock Grochowski, Edward St. John Sr., and Phillip Taggart — are vying for four vacant seats on the Hinckley-Finlayson School Board.

Cambridge-Isanti referendum

Cambridge-Isanti school district voters will weigh in on two ballot questions regarding a $124 million referendum.

The first question seeks $87.1 million to invest across all school sites, including expanding capacity at the elementary buildings, updating secure entrances and accessibility, addressing aging infrastructure and deferred maintenance, and improving athletic and activity facilities.

The second question is contingent on Question 1 passing, and proposes an additional $36 million investment to build a new indoor fieldhouse at Cambridge-Isanti High School.

Princeton referendum

Princeton Public Schools is seeking just over $49 million for infrastructure updates, renovating outdated classrooms, and replacing career and technical education spaces.

The referendum also includes a capital projects levy to raise $750,000 a year for ten years to provide funding for school district technology.

Willow River referendum

Voters will consider increasing the operating levy by about $700 per student, which will generate approximately $300,000 annually for district expenses.

According to the ballot question, the proposed referendum revenue authorization would be applicable for 10 years, starting with taxes payable in 2026.
