It was a good night for the top seeds in the Section 5A East Girls basketball playoffs as #1 seed Braham and #2 seed Ogilvie both advanced to the sub-section semifinals.
The Braham Bombers cruised to victory with a 56-19 win over East Central on Thursday night. Arin Zimpel led the Bombers in scoring with thirteen points. Madison Davis scored 12 of her own while Julia Kuhnke added nine.
Braham advances to take on #4 seed Barnum who defeated Upsala 53-51 on Thursday night. Braham lost to Barnum 58-57 on February 24th.
Ogilvie advanced over Mille Lacs by a score of 69-61 as the Raiders almost played spoiler to the #2 seed. The Lions will take on the #3 seed Swanville who beat McGregor 77-34. These two teams only met once in the regular season with Swanville beating Ogilvie 66-53.
Braham vs Barnum will take place at Hinckley-Finlayson high school at 6:00 this Saturday while Ogilvie vs Swanville will be played shortly after that game ends.
