The Dragons used very good defense to wear down their opponent throughout the game and methodically grew the lead. "Our defense set the tone. Our kids took the adjustments that we made going into playoffs and executed them at a high level." Pine City led 28-16 at the half. "We were happy with the lead at half and wanted to come out and continue to increase it in the second half. Pine City had a couple of kids with two fouls in the first half. "We decided to keep them on the bench until half time since we had the lead. It worked well as we could be very aggressive once again in the second half." The Dragons had a big run in the second half where the lead swelled to 30 points and coasted to the victory. Ellie Hasz had 20 points, 6 rebounds, 5 steals, 3 assists and 2 blocks. Sophie Lahti had 18 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists and 2 steals. Karly Jusczak had 13 points, 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and 4 blocks. Kloey Lind had a double double with 10 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals. Carissa Nascene had 3 points and 3 assists. Maddie Berglund was great on defense all night and finished with 3 steals.

"Covid stole our playoffs from us. So many emotions run through you as the hours these girls have put in since they were so little has been countless." "These kids have earned everything through hard work and have seen how success comes from it. Those life lessons can't be stolen by Covid!"

A season wrap up will be coming in the next couple of weeks.
