The East Central boys basketball team hosted St. John's Prep on Thursday night.
The Eagles wasted no time in getting on the board. And once they got their first points, they seem to come at will. Anything and everything they put near the basket was falling in. Their defense came out and showed why it's one of the best, not just in the section but in the state. They only allowed 16 points in the first half from the Johnnies. An impressive mark as they were able to take a large lead into halftime 46-16.
The 2nd half was no different, the Eagles were able to score early and often and the defense did its job holding St. John's Prep to 12 2nd half points. East Central ran away with the game 92-28!
With the win the Eagles advance to the section quarterfinals on Saturday. They'll play PACT Charter at 1pm at Hinckley-Finlayson HS.
