First Minnesota cannabis business license issued to Brook Park microbusiness

The Minnesota Office of Cannabis Management issued the first cannabis business license to a Pine County company on June 18.

According to a news release, the first licensee is Herb Quest, LLC, a microbusiness located in Brook Park.

The release states that Herb Quest's primary business activity will be the outdoor cultivation of cannabis plants.

Interim OCM director Eric Taubel said issuing the first business license is "a major milestone for the office."

“With our first licensed cultivator now able to begin growing plants, and more than 600 businesses within the final steps of completing their applications and securing approvals from local governments, we are now seeing the first pieces of Minnesota’s adult-use market fall into place," Taubel said in the release.
