Wakes on Cross Lake, Pokegama Lake, and the Snake River have been prohibited due to high water.
According to the National Weather Service, powerful storms dropped between five and eight inches across east-central Minnesota last week, felling trees and causing power outages.
Al Johnson of the Cross Lake Association says that the water level is expected to peak today and tomorrow at around 8.4 feet.
The No Wake ordinance will stay in place on the three bodies of water until the waterline registers below six feet for three days on the stream gauge near the outlet of Cross Lake.
