The Hinckley-Finlayson school board has unanimously selected five semifinalists to interview for the superintendent position.
According to a news release from the district, the candidates are Hinckley-Finlayson High School principal Joseph Lattimore; Rush City Schools superintendent Brent Stavig; Rockford Area Schools director of business operations Mike McNulty; Renville County West School District superintendent Brad Johnson; and Country Services, Inc. chief financial officer Drew Goeldner.
The school board will interview the semifinalists starting at 4 p.m. on March 30 and 31.
The interviews will be open to the public and held at the district board room in Hinckley, but will not be livestreamed or recorded to ensure a level playing field for all candidates.
The Hinckley-Finlayson school board accepted the resignation of Superintendent Brian Masterson — effective June 30, 2026 — at a special meeting in December.
Masterson submitted his formal resignation in a letter to the board on Dec. 19.
He served as the district's superintendent for the past four years, after previously serving as high school principal for 11 years.
