Knights Grab 12 Strikeouts En Route to Win

Hinckley hosted the Ramsey Renegades last Friday night.

The Renegades started firing on all cylinders. Their leadoff hitter reached with a double, he was then batted in on another RBI double. The Knights couldn't answer in the bottom of the 1st, but they did finally answer. Leading off the 2nd inning was Noah Furcht, and he got his team on the board with a bang! 2 pitches in and the ball flew over the left field fence tying the game at 1. But the top of the 3rd saw the Renegades retake the lead. They scored one by an error and one on a single. Hinckley was able to grab one of the runs back in the 4th inning but the 5th inning was the true turning point. Ben Sickler, the Knights starting pitcher, found his stride and the bats started to get hot. In the bottom of the 5th, Hinckley loaded the bases and walked home their next two runs. This caused the Ramsey starting pitcher to be pulled, and the Knights took advantage and walked home their 3rd run of the inning.

Now with a 5-3 lead, Sickler retired the side to get his guys back to the batters box.

Once again the Knights loaded the bases in the bottom of the 6th, this time Isaiah Hasz emptied the bases and drove home three runs and boosted their lead to 8-3.

Hasz night wasn't over though, he came in to pitch in the 8th inning and helped his team secure the victory.

Sickler pitched 7 innings allowing only 4 hits and 8 strikeouts, Hasz finished up the last two innings allowing 1 hit and striking out four.

With the win they improved to 9-4, they also grabbed a victory over the Braham Snappers on Sunday and now sit atop the Eastern Minny League North Division with the Mora Blue Devils.
