From the Pine Center for the Arts:
Pine Center for the Arts welcomes Sights From Gravel Roads during the month of August. Robert Olson creates oil paintings of subjects people would normally drive by without noticing.
Olson has been drawing his whole life (35 yrs), but he recently started painting about 3 years ago. His hope for people who view his work is that they appreciate the beauty in the everyday mundane sights they pass by.
"I like to paint subjects people would normally drive by without notice. A field of livestock or old rust cars can be beautiful if you focus on them.” Olson said.
“Sights From Gravel Roads” opens on Friday, August 12. The public is invited to an artists’ reception from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, August 12. Wine, beer and light appetizers will be served.
The gallery will continue throughout the month of August. Regular gallery hours are 10 am-5 pm, Thursday-Sunday. The gallery is free and open to the public.
