Pine City Area Chamber of Commerce names Loren Samuelson 2025 citizen of the year

The Pine City Area Chamber of Commerce has named Loren Samuelson as the 2025 outstanding citizen of the year.

According to a news release, Samuelson was nominated for his involvement in multiple community organizations, including his local church, the Lions Club, Pine City Youth Hockey Association, Greater Pine Area Endowment, Pheasants Forever, and the Pine City Country Club.

The release said one letter summed up Samuelson's nominations best: “He shows up.”

After community members recommended individuals for the honor, a panel was tasked with reviewing the nominations to decide on the winning candidate.

“While it may be one of the most challenging tasks of the year,” Heather

Rank, one of this year’s committee members, said in the release. “It is also one of the most rewarding experiences of the year. I am proud to serve on this committee each year.”

An open house reception to honor Samuelson will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 1, at the Pine City Country Club.
