Pine City Faces Off Against Mora in Playoffs

Mora traveled to Pine City for the first round of the Section 7AA playoffs.

These two rivals faced off earlier in the season with Pine City getting the win 3-1. The Mustangs looked to change that in this game.

Pine City started out strong winning set one 25-15. But Mora took control in the 2nd set and had a 20-9 lead at one point. The Dragons would close in on the lead but before they could get closer Mora closed out the 2nd set with a 25-20 win. The third set was a tug of war. One team would score and grab a small lead, then the other would come back and tie it up. This back and forth continued late into the 3rd set. Tied at 23 the Dragons scored the final two points and lead the match 2 set to 1. The fourth set saw the Mustangs start quickly and had a 16-11 lead. And would extend that lead to 20-12. The Dragons once again closed in on the lead but Mora stopped their comeback and took set 4 25-21. The game headed to a 5th and final set. The teams traded points and sat tied at 8. At that point Pine City took over and would win the set 15-9.

Mora's season comes to an end and have 10 seniors who will graduate.

Pine City will play in Proctor on Friday against the Rails at 7pm.
