Rush City Shuts Out Pine City Behind Arm of Nathan Pace

The Tigers hosted conference rival Pine City yesterday.

In the first inning both pitchers got off to a good start. For Rush City, Nathan Pace faced 4 batters, striking out the first two, walking one and his infield taking care of the final out. Nick Stewart got the start on the mound for the Dragons. He also struck out two batters, but the Tigers were able to get on the board first with an RBI double from Noah Pace. The next two innings Pine City went three up and three down with Nathan Pace striking out 6 in a row through those two innings. The Tigers were also able to build on their lead scoring 6 runs in those innings, making it a commanding 7-0 lead heading into the 4th. Nathan would strike out two more batters in the 4th and his team made their way back to the plate. They needed three runs to try and end the game early. After a fly out to begin the inning, their bats got hot once again and they were able to get those three runs to cross the plate. Now with a 10-0 lead they needed Nathan to go out once more and take control. And he did just that, striking out the side and ending the game after 5 innings. Nathan Pace finished the complete game striking out 13 batters allowing one hit and walking only one!

The Dragons are set to have two more games this week, at home against Braham Thursday and at Two Harbors on Saturday.

The Tigers are also set for two more games this week both on the road, Thursday at East Central and Friday at Mora.
