State senator Rarick announces reelection campaign for District 11 seat

Minnesota State Senator Jason Rarick announced a reelection campaign for his District 11 seat on Friday.

The Pine City resident was first elected to the state Senate in a special election in 2019 after previously serving as a state representative.

Rarick is in his third term after being reelected to his seat in 2020 and 2022.

“I’m proud to represent the people of District 11, but the work is not over. I am announcing my intention to seek your support to continue serving you in the Minnesota State Senate,” Rarick wrote in a news release issued on Friday. “I will fight to lower taxes, put an end to fraud, strengthen our schools, and make sure Minnesotans always come first, not politicians and special interests.”

During the 2026 legislative session, Rarick will continue serving as Republican lead for the Education Finance Committee, and as a member of the Energy, Utilities, Environment, and Climate Committee and Labor Committee.

“After a few years away from the Labor Committee, I’m very happy to be returning this session,” Rarick wrote in a news release. “Labor issues have always been some of my top priorities at the legislature, and even though I was not on the committee for the last few years, I still worked closely with those members on legislative issues, and carried many labor-related bills."

District 11 includes communities in Pine, Kanabec, Chisago, Carlton, and St. Louis counties.
