Aviation Event Free Airplane Rides

A once in a lifetime event is being offered by the experimental aircraft association.

The event gives kids ages 8-17 the chance to ride in an aircraft for free.

The pilots are FAA and government licensed and are local members of the EAA.

The goal of the event is to introduce and inspire kids about the world of aviation.

To register simply head to Voyager Village in Danbury, this Saturday from 3-6.

Pine City Alzheimer’s Action Team

The Alzheimer’s Pine City Action team is doing its part in educating the community on an important topic.

The team’s goal is to share resources and information to further the area as a dementia friendly community.

The Daybreak program is offered to those suffering from dementia where they can construct crafts, play games, sing songs, and share a meal together.

The program is aimed not only to support those with dementia but also provide caregivers with a chance to attend to their own needs.

It currently meets at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church and is staffed by local volunteers while meeting on the first and third Thursdays of the month, with the goal eventually being a meeting once a week.

Sweet Summer Sounds in Hinckley

The City of Hinckley and Parks Board are coming together for a summer concert series.

Sweet Summer Sounds 2017 is hosting seven concerts throughout the summer.

The concerts are being held every Thursday night from now until August 3rd.

The next concert is put on tonight from 6:30-8.

All concerts will be held at that time, and all will be at Westside Park Pavillion in Hinckley.

Pine City Public Library Event

The Pine City Public Library is holding an event for kids who love science.

Kids aged 6-12 can learn how to build an earthquake resistant building.

The event is aimed at introducing kids to engineering in a fun environment through the Minnesota Super Structures program.

It's being held Tuesday, June 24th at 1 pm.
