Sweet Sounds of Summer in Hinckley Features National Night Out

The City of Hinckley and Parks Board are hosting national night out in Hinckley alongside their regular weekly event.

Sweet Summer Sounds 2017 is hosting seven concerts throughout the summer and is combining with national night out tonight.

The concerts are typically held every Thursday and the final night will be this Thursday, August 3rd.

Pine City’s national night out is tonight at Robinson Park.

Sokol Camp Putting on 87th Annual Booya Picnic

A local association is holding its 87th picnic, an event that attracts citizens from all over.

The Sokol Camp on Cross Lake is hosting its Booya Picnic August 13th from 12-5.

Booya is a Czechoslovokian dish filled with different meats and vegetables, and cooked in large pots outdoors.

Richard Vanyo is in charge of overseeing the cooking of the Booya, and is proud of what they make, and the new faces they get to meet.

The Sokol Camp in Pine City is on the northeast end of Cross Lake

Fundraiser at Braham Food Shelf Benefits Community

A fundraiser for a local food shelf is helping support the community and giving back.

The Braham Food Shelf is holding a fundraiser this Thursday, August 3rd from 9-5 at Helen’s Daycare in Braham.

All proceeds will go to the Food Shelf, with last year’s total going over $3,700.

At the fundraiser they’ll have a garage sale, baked goods, door prizes and games, arts and crafts, and a luncheon.
