National Speaker Presenting at North Branch High School

This Friday, North Branch Area High School will be hosting a guest speaker who’s been featured across the country.

Jessica Rasdall will be sharing her testimony of her decision to drink and drive which resulted in the death of her best friend.

The focus of her presentation will be choices, consequences, and making the most of second chances.

Rasdall will be speaking at North Branch Area High School this Friday speaking first at 8:40 and also 12:45.

Film Society Screening at Pine Tech and Comm College

The East Central Minnesota Film Society is screening an award winning film this weekend.

They’ll be showing SEED: the Untold Story, about restoring the future of food.

Winner of the Best Documentary Feature at the San Diego Film Festival in 2016, the environmental documentary is critically acclaimed.

The film is being shown this Saturday, October 7th at 3:05 at Pine Technical and Community College Auditorium.

Thefts in Sandstone

Yesterday morning a string of thefts were reported out of Sandstone.

The mailbox drop box at the post office was pried open and its contents stolen.

In addition, the city bill pay boxes at the Sandstone Public Library were also broken into.

The Pine County Sheriff’s Office has said those who either mailed something Monday afternoon or dropped off a bill may have had their letter or bill stolen.

If you deposited mail after 3:00 pm on Monday afternoon in Sandstone it was stolen and not delivered.

Rush City Homecoming this Week

Rush City High School is celebrating homecoming this week with sports games and events throughout the week.

Homecoming kicked off with the coronation on Monday, and will continue with the parade on Friday at 2:15, a pig roast at 4, and then football against Mesabi High School at 7.

Girls volleyball will also play tomorrow.

Tickets for the pig roast can be purchased at the school or at the door.
